Professional Development
Teaching cultivates a need to learn continuously and I enjoy being a life-long learner! There is no thrill like learning a new tidbit of information and applying it. I seek out opportunities for growth and learning whenever possible. Below you will find a list of conferences and workshops that I have attended.
Alternatively, I use informal means of Professional Development through Twitter, Pinterest and Inspiring Education forums. Twitter allows me to develop a Professional Learning Network with other educators and professionals. This enables me to follow educational stakeholders, stay up to date on new concepts and events, and share my ideas with the community. Pinterest allows educators to share ideas and concepts for the classroom, ranging from classroom management techniques to lesson ideas. Membership to the Inspiring Education forum allows me to engage in discussion about education in Alberta, and to read and learn from other members.
